Day 1: Welcome to Jordan
Welcome to Jordan! Upon arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport, you will be met by your guide, Guided visit to the ancient Roman town of Jerash. Day 2: Dead Sea , Transfer to Petra (B)
Rise early this morning for an unforgettable desert sunrise. After breakfast, your driver will pick you up for the 1-hour drive to reach the shores of the Dead Sea, one of the most spectacular natural and spiritual landscapes in the world. This landlocked lake is the lowest point on earth and the world's richest source of natural salts, hiding wonderful treasures that accumulated over thousands of years, floating in the salty waters, enjoying a full-body mud treatment, or relaxing in the sun. When you're ready, continue to Petra where you'll check in to your hotel for the night.
Day 3: Explore Petra, Overnight Petra
Today you'll explore Jordan's beloved archeological treasure: the lost city of Petra. Known as the "Rose City" for the area's distinctive red sandstone, it's easy to see why Petra was named one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Its intricate architectural design is hundreds of years old, and remarkably well maintained. You can choose to hire a guide for a two-hour tour of the site or spend the day exploring at your own pace.Enter through the Siq, a dramatically narrow gorge flanked by towering cliffs, and spend your day wandering at your leisure through Petra's seemingly endless temples, tombs, and colonnaded streets. Navigate the impressive water conduit system of the historic Nabataean city, paying a visit to Qasr al-Bint, a grand temple that was once the population's primary place of worship. If you're feeling adventurous, climb your way up the 800 steps to the Monastery, Petra's largest and lesser-visited monument. Day 4: Transfer to Jerusalem, Afternoon City Tour (B)
your driver awaits to transfer you into Israel via the Sheikh Hussein Bridge. Start by taking in panoramic views over Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. Next, you'll visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations before proceeding to Bethlehem to see the Church of Nativity. Also known as the Grotto, this mosaic-lined basilica was built to commemorate what is widely believed to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ. After exploring Shepherd's Fields chapel in Beit Sahour, you can stretch your legs with a stroll through religious ruins from the early days of Christiandom before getting back on the road and checking into your hotel in Jerusalem for the night.
Day 5: Jerusalem Sightseeing (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, head out for some more sightseeing. Start the day with a visit to the Wailing Wall, where you can view Haram Al-Sharif, also called the Temple Mount, in all its golden-domed glory. A stroll through the colorful bazaars of the Old City takes you towards the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher, built on the site where Christians believe Jesus was crucified and buried before rising up again. Then continue to the Jewish Quarter to explore the Cardo, an ancient colonnaded street dating back to the Roman Empire.
Day 6: Jerusalem Holiest city & Bethlehem; the birthplace of Jesus Christ (B)
Begin your full-day tour with a hotel pickup in an air-conditioned coach. Start the drive along the Kidron Valley with views of the Garden of Gethsemane, the Mount of Olives, and the Church of all Nations.The first stop is at the Mount of Olives for a scenic overview of the entire city of Jerusalem. This mountain ridge is east of the Old City of Jerusalem and is named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes. According to the gospels, a number of important events in the life of Jesus took place here, including where he ascended into heaven. Overnight Jerusalem The Mount has been a site of Christian worship since ancient times and continues to be a place of pilgrimage for Eastern Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant believers.
Day 7: Nazareth Sea of Galilee and Jordan River Yardenit Baptismal site (B)
Check out from the hotel in Jerusalem. Today we are shifting gears; we change direction and heading North of Israel. The destination is Nazareth, Tabgha, Capernaum and the Sea of Galilee, and the Jordan River Yardenit.The first gem of your tour will be Nazareth city of religion and faith, of spirituality and holiness, but also a city with a rich history, fascinating archeology, modern culture, and Middle Eastern charm. Nazareth, which began as a small Jewish village about 2,000 years ago, became a stronghold of Christianity in the Byzantine period, just a few hundred years later. During that period the name of Nazareth spread far and wide, and the yearnings to see the place where the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ had lived turned the city into a popular pilgrimage site. We will visit the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Josef.After Nazareth, we continue our way through Kana to Tiberias, Sea of Galilee. We drive along Kineret Lake to visit Capernaum. Next, we visit Tabgha, located at the foot of Golan Heights, site of the miracle of fish and loaves.Proceed to Yardenit, situated on the banks of the Jordan River, flowing forth from the Sea of Galilee, the baptismal site of Yardenit welcomes over half a million tourists and pilgrims annually who come to experience the spirituality and pastoral beauty of the waters of the River Jordan, in which Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.According to the Christian faith, the Jordan River YARDENIT is considered the third most holy site in the Holy Land, just after Nativity Grotto in Bethlehem and Golgotha in Jerusalem, because it is the site of the most important event of Jesus’ life – his baptism and beginning of his ministry. The site offers 12 separate baptismal pools, enabling different groups to comfortably conduct private worship ceremonies, transfer to hotel in Tel Aviv after the tour.
Day 8: Departure – Flight back home (B)
On this final day, we will transfer you to the Ben Gurion airport for your journey home. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel 4 hours before the flight, to transfer you to Ben Gurion airport.
